St. Lawrence Steel 19U Girls Hockey Team wins States

The St. Lawrence Steel 19U Girls Hockey Team won the New York State Hockey Championships title on Sunday March 8, 2020 in Buffalo. They will now represent New York State in the USA Hockey National Championships to be held in West Chester, Pennsylvania (20 miles from Philadelphia) on April 2 – 6, 2020. The Steel played Cazenovia of Buffalo in the championship game and it was a thriller with the St. Lawrence Steel scoring in overtime to win the title 3 to 2. Cazenovia had beaten the Steel in round robin play 1 to 0 earlier in the tournament.

The St. Lawrence Steel team roster includes: Rylee Garrow, Brycelan Sunday, Taylor Swamp, Carli Cartier, Madison Collette, Kayla Cunningham, Karli St. Ann, Olivia Hunter, Hannah Chilton and Meg Wilmshurst. Other players are from Albany and Alex Bay. They are coached by Dan Rondeau and Matt Cullen.
