The Raider boys defeated the St. Lawrence Central Larries at home on Tuesday, Feb. 4 by a 57-24 final tally.
“Boys played well. Solid night on defense. Chris McGregor had a great night all around. Ethan Firnstein, big night in paint with 11 boards and five blocks,” Coach Brandon Downs said.
McGregor scored a game-high 21 points. Ryan Herrick fashioned nine points. Zachary LaBarge tallied eight points. Ethan Barney and Ethan Firnstein scored six points each. Adam Peets notched three points. Two points apiece came from Luke Greco and DeShawn Walton.
Ansen Weegar paced the Larries with nine points. Steven Homer scored four points and Cash Feeley and Hayden Perkins, three apiece. Two points each were contributed by Caeden Taylor, Grant Taylor and Hunter Arquiett.
The Massena Raiders girls contingent also defeated St. Lawrence, with their win the prior evening, Feb. 3. The final score was 56-49.
Tsiakoseriio David scored a game-high 19 points for the Raiders. Aryssa Hopps tallied 10 points. Marissa McLean led SLC with 16 points.
The Salmon River Shamrocks boys and girls squadrons both lost to Canton.
The boys game was Feb. 4 in Fort Covington with a 65-42 final score.
Logan Lebehn set the pace for SRC with 11 points. Hawi Cook-Francis scored seven points. Tyler Huto scored five. Clayton Jones and Cayden Sunday tossed in four points each. Kyran Skidders and Lane Oakes each fashioned three points. PJ Ghostlaw and Quinton Carle netted two points each. Tobias Jacobs hit a free throw.
Chris Downs led Canton with a game-high 20 points. Ashton Cloce tallied 12 points. Schuyler Kennedy netted 11 points. Andy Downs fashioned eight points.
The lopsided girls game ended with the scoreboard reading 74-19.
Meg Martin led the Shamrocks offense with six points. Iohseriio Tabor and Kiyahna Thompson netted four points each. Lindsay Martin scored three points and Jacobi Mitchell tallied two.
For Canton, Catherine Chisholm scored a game-high 18 points. Emily Wentworth came through for nine points. Sarah Sieminski and Lexis Huiatt scored eight points each. Gretchen Warner fashioned six points. Maddie Hoy, Jill DiSalvo and Sophie Ladouceur had four points apiece. Abby Dent and Mary Lobdell scored two points each. HailAee Duvall netted a free throw.
Massena defeated Carthage by a single basket on Saturday, Feb. 1. The score was 63-61.
Ethan Firnstein sparked the Raiders offense with 12 points. Adam Peets and Luke Greco netted 10 points each. Nine points apiece came from Zachary LaBarge and Christopher McGregor. Ethan Barney tallied seven points. Ryan Herrick fashioned six points.
For Carthage, Elijah Whitford scored a game-high 28 points. Zion Tevaga tallied 20 points. Jaecere Roney tallied six points. Ashton Norton contributed five points and Josh Demko two.
