ANNIE MCDONALD

Annie McDonald – Born January 6, 1927 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on February 11, 2020 at the age of 93 years. She is survived by her children Jennifer David (Charles), Martha Mitchell and Jerome McDonald (Sandra Benedict) and her chosen daughter Charlotte Cook, two stepdaughters Diane and Gail McDonald, by one brother Abraham Caldwell, by godsons Jonathan Caldwell and Randy Day. By her grandchildren Fred, Ange, Tracey, Chris, Robert, Carter, Jody, Kory, Patty, Leigh-Ann, Raun, Issac and Adam. Great-grandchildren Christopher, Zada, Krystian, Kamryn, Brady, Briley, Jordy, Toryn, Kasey, Kayle, Alexia, Charles, Agnes and Henry. Two great-great-grandchildren Hayden and Vayla and by many nieces and nephews.

Annie was an Honourary Member of Hogansburg Senior Centre and Tri-District Elders. A communicant of St. Regis Catholic Church and the Kateri Tekakwitha Pilgrimages. She worked in the General Electric factory and a purse factory in Syracuse, New York. She also worked as a Teacher's Aide for fifteen years with the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk School where she retired at 60 years of age. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, crocheting, sewing, playing bingo and loved playing Ace to King. She loved watching lacrosse, especially when her grandsons played. A big fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, she loved Sidney Crosby. She also enjoyed travelling and shopping. She made the best carrot cake.

Annie is predeceased by her husband Jerome McDonald Sr., her parents Paul and Katie Caldwell, two daughters, Gloria J. Thompson and Hilda K. Swamp, two brothers Michael and James Caldwell, by her sister Agnes Boots and by two great grandsons Trey and Raun Jr. Resting at the Homemakers in Snye on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 12 noon. Mass of Christian Funeral will be celebrated in St. Regis Catholic Church on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 10:30 am. Cremation to follow.
