Twinleaf hosted their breakfast with Santa the weekend of Dec. 14 and 15 in both Akwesasne and Fort Covington.
They brought the event to their diner on state Route 37 on Sunday the 15th. In addition to kids getting to meet Santa, the diner served breakfast and a Christmas dinner.
Richard Laffin, who filled in Santa's boots, said he enjoys the gig and is in his second year doing it.
"There was a good turnout. Some of the kids are afraid at first," he said. "One girl, we had to convince her I was Santa and when she came up, she didn't want to leave. It's nice to get them here, to help them out."
Chessie Thomas, Twinleaf's director of food and beverage, said she's happy they've been able to find a local Santa.
"It's nice we have a local Santa. A lot of the families know him," she said.
She said this year's event was similar to last year's, and they both went well.
"It's all for the kids anyways," she said.
The previous day, Twin Leaf held the event at the Fort Covington American Legion. Thomas said that was also well-received.
