Caroling for Our Totas

By Derrick Lafrance

The holidays got a lot brighter for the residents of Iakhihsohtha and Tsiionkwanonhso:te.

Last Monday Law Enforcement agencies held their tradition of stopping at the Homes and bringing a bit of Christmas cheer.

Officers from the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Services and Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department were joined by colleagues from the RCMP, OPP and CBSA and performed the holiday classics.

In between songs Dan Bisonette of the Ontario Provincial Police told some jokes (mostly R rated) which kept the proceedings lively as the chorus launched into another song.

It was a nice treat for the day but there is still more holiday fun coming up. Next Tuesday Iakhihsohtha will be having a staff and residents party followed by a Family Breakfast on Christmas morning, and December 31st is the New Year's Eve party.
