Friendsgiving 2019 Marks Fifth Year of Gratitude

By Jaclyn Hall

It is safe to say, the Annual Friendsgiving event will continue to feed community members during Thanksgiving for years to come. Thursday, November 28th marked the 5th year Everett Lazore and Johnathan Lazore, with the help of many volunteers prepare a delicious traditional Thanksgiving Dinner which they give away for free.

Every year, Johnathan and Everett combine their cooking skills and generosity to make Friendsgiving a success. "We want to thank the community for their continued support with a free thanksgiving dinner. We couldn't do it without the help of our volunteers, without them we wouldn't be able to pull it off. Niawen to our sponsors, this year Friendsgiving was co-sponsored by Brass Horse and Thompson Landworks."

Well over 200 community members were fed thanks to the efforts of many hardworking volunteers. Community members had the option to go to the Tsi Snaihne Recreation, from 11am until all was gone, or have their meals delivered directly to their homes. Many families were lucky enough to eat a nice hot meal, courtesy of BIG E (Everett and Sandra Lazore) and Chey's Place (Johnathan Lazore) and their efforts to continue giving back to the community.
