The IFN’s are seeking a highly motivated dynamic individual to fulfill the responsibilities of Mental Health & Addictions Policy Analyst on behalf of the IFN Communities. Round 1 of employment opportunity is open to members of the Independent First Nations (IFN).
Term:
The IFN Mental Health & Addictions Policy Analyst position is a Term Contract until March 31, 2020 with possibility of extension.
Description:
Under the direction of the IFN Leadership and oversight of the IFN Health Director, the position will be governed by and adhere to the IFN Policies. This position will be providing liaison, information sharing, and analysis. Undertake collection of Mental Health & Addictions programs and services delivered in Ontario. Identify and develop options for discussion of service coordination delivery models pertaining to the IFN Communities Mental Health & Addictions priorities and service gaps.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
• Grade twelve (12) or equivalent required.
• Post-Secondary diploma/degree in mental health and addictions field, social services or related discipline an asset; OR
• Three (3) years working experience in Mental Health and Addictions field or Social Services and experience navigating through various service agencies and creating service coordination networks.
Skills & Abilities
• Excellent oral and communication skills.
• Essential computer competencies.
• Must have a solid understanding of Independent First Nations and be politically astute in recognizing the diversity amongst the IFN.
• Ability to establish priorities, develop action plans, prepare briefing notes/reports.
• Strong writing and reporting skills.
• Ability to be creative, conceptual thinking, and relationship skills.
• Research and analytical skills an asset, i.e. scans and mapping exercises.
• Ability to take direction under restraint timelines to carry out IFN activities.
• Strong understanding of policy, program and evaluation processes.
• Ability to meet work plan deliverables on time and/or as directed.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Other
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License and insurable.
• CPIC upon request.
Location: Via Satellite Office
Salary: $55,000.00
