The Massena Raiders got a promising start against the Watertown Cyclones at their Friday, Sept. 27 home game. But the Cyclones broke away and won 36-21.
Dylan Lazore caught one 10-yard touchdown pass and also made seven tackles. Daryl Lazare made two tackles.
Quarterback Dominic Monacelli went 14-28 passing for 121 yards. He threw one touchdown pass and one interception. He also rushed 31 yards on five attempts and ran in one touchdown, and made seven tackles.
Christian McSurdy rushed 84 yards on 12 carries and ran in one touchdown. He also returned one kickoff for 10 yards. Ethan Miller carried the ball six times for 28 yards, caught one pass for four yards and made eight tackles. Michael Kuhn rushed four yards on four carries and returned one kick for 15 yards. Zach Austin made it 19 yards on six rushing tries, returned two kicks for 25 yards and made four tackles. Thomas McGregor caught three passes for 40 yards, returned three punts for 33 yards and made two tackles. Mark Perry caught three passes for 25 yards and made two tackles. Kuhn also kicked off twice for 109 yards, punted four times for 180 yards and made his only PAT kick. Austin kicked off once for 15 yards.
On the defensive side, Ryan Avery had two tackles. Nate Eastwood tallied four tackles, Hunter Pryce four, Ian McDermott five, Preston Guynup eight and Bailey O'Learhy four.
