September 21 is World Alzheimer’s Day.
Wondering how you can get involved? #GoBlueforAlz by wearing blue on World Alzheimer’s Day to show that you are Dementia Friendly!
This World Alzheimer’s Day, we’ll be wearing blue to show our support for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, their care partners and families.
Will you join us to help break the stigma? Show your support on September 21, World Alzheimer’s Day, by sharing a photo of yourself wearing blue with the hashtag #GoBlueforAlz!
Please get involved by making a donation today to continue to support people living with dementia, and their care partners and families. Join the staff and residents at Tsiionkwanonhso:te (LTC) by wearing blue on September 25th, 2019, take a group photo and donate.
Residents enjoy bus outings and ‘rides to nowhere’ to note the changing of the seasons. An outing is planned on October 1 to Upper Canada Village on ‘Special Needs Night’ to attend Pumpkinferno. As a bus monitor, you would fill the role necessary to make the outing safe and enjoyable for residents. Consider applying for a volunteer position and earn the mandatory 40 hours credit towards graduation. Don’t wait until the last minute. Volunteers receive training and are supervised at all times.
Niawen:kowa/Thank you to:
Anita’s daughter for spending time arranging the books in the Resident’s library.
Farrah, your assistance during Bingo on Thursday afternoon by sitting with the Residents who want to participate but may not be able to ‘keep up’ keeps everyone involved.
Sister Mary Christine and Father Jerome Pastores (The pastoral care team) bring Holy Communion and Holy Mass to the residents once a week and are assisted by Cecelia and Bea.
Check us out on Facebook: “Friends of Tsiionkwanonhso:te”.
