A Voice from the Eastern Door

JEFFREY A. LAZORE

On Sunday, August 11, 2019 Jeffrey A. Lazore of Kanatakon was taken to the spirit world to join the ancestors. A big guy who had a big heart and a smile to match it, he will be forever missed. His life was taken too young at 58 years young. Leaving behind his legacy within his children, Stacey Odorowski (Arkansas) and grandchildren, Jasmine, Xander and Sophia Nevarro; JonMike Lazore (fiancée Amber of Cornwall) and grandchildren Xander and Bronson; Keegan, Sasta and Kiannah Thomas (Akwesasne) and James D. Johnson (Tsi Snaihne). Predeceased in death by parents, Basil Arquette and recently, Hilda Lazore. He is survived by an older brother, Matthew Lazore (Alabama), younger favorite sister, Alice Lazore (John Elkowitz of NJ), companion Veronica Thompson (Akwesasne), Uncle Jack, Aunt Joan, cousins, nieces and nephews.

If you knew Jeff, you had a friend for life! He either liked you or he didn’t! He’d give the shirt off his back to help you out if he could. An avid fisherman, boater (he even raised fish), he loved the mighty St. Lawrence River and the family island. He was taught by Grandfather, Jake “Sunshine” Lazore the art of night lining for sturgeon and had a reputation of making the best smoked fish. Because of the nature of his passing, a very intimate viewing will take place with only the immediate family followed by cremation. An “I’d Rather Be Fishing Celebration of Life” event will occur next month at the family island. Ceremonial Fire is being held at 13 Jocko Road, Kawehnoke. Arrangements entrusted to LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482).

~Do not think of me as gone – I am with you still, in each new dawn~….Fly high Jeff!
