GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN

SALARY LEVEL: SP06 ST2 $52,239.82

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Information Systems Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for serving as the principal advisor on implementation and expansion of GIS-based data and GIS-based applications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University or College Degree in Geology, Environmental, Surveying or Land Based Field Position with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience OR

• Completion of High School and completion of specific courses or training that directly enhances skills with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience;

• Excellent working knowledge of ESRI-ARC GIS, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD and Visual Basics;

• Knowledge of the use and application of Global Positioning System.
