A By-Election for one (1) District Chief will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in the District of Kawehnoke from the hours of 9.m. to 5p.m. at the following location:

Kawehnoke: Tri-District Elders Lodge

Advanced Polls will be held on May 15, 2019 and May 25, 2019 by appointment only. The phone number to call for an appointment is: 613-575-2250 Ext 2406.

PLEASE check the Voters List in your district to make sure that your name is on it. If your name is not on the Voters List in your district please contact me at 613-575 2250 Ext. 2406 or my cell at 613-551-1622, or come to the Angus Mitchell Memorial Building upstairs (Justice), and pick up an application to the Voters List.

The FINAL VOTERS LIST for By-Election Day will be printed on Thursday, May 30, 2019, so you will have until 8:00a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019 to submit your application to the Voters List.

SECTION 7 (Akwesasne Election Law) ELIGIBLITY OF VOTERS

A person who at the time of voting must:

(a) have attained eighteen years of age;

(b) be a resident in the district where they are voting;

(c) be a registered member of the Mohawks of Akwesasne;

(d) be an Onkwehonwe.
