Saturday, May 18 - CANTON: The Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm, 2043B State Highway 68, will host an open house with activities for the whole family, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; families will learn about the many programs Cornell Cooperative Extension does for St. Lawrence County through hands-on activities and demos including food preservation, taste testing, dog and goat agility, planting plants and seeds, and craft activities, farm-to-table display, Dairy Princess and milking cow, farm-to-school taste testing, and BOCES Ag Academy info; check out the different 4-H clubs and learn about the farm’s lambs, goat kids, and chicks; food for sale from Anastasia’s Bakery, The Cambodian Food Truck and Big Spoon Kitchen; silent auction with items donated by the Best Western, Coakley’s, Sergi’s Canton and many more places from around the community; proceeds from the silent auction will go to support 4-H programs in St. Lawrence County; admission is free, with a few items you can purchase at the event; parking will be at Canton Central School with shuttle buses going back and forth; stlawrence.cce.cornell.edu.
