(February 26, 2019) The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) is cautioning the community once again of phone calls being made from individuals stating that your internet connection needs to be repaired. The victims are contacted and asked to press 1 on their phone in order to repair their internet. Bell Canada has advised us that this is a scam and to not push 1 on your device if you happen to receive a fraudulent call.
If you have been a victim of this phone scam, please contact the Akwesasne Mohawk Police at 613-575-2340.
