The Salmon River varsity girl's basketball team squared off against four opponents over the course of a week, and the boys basketball and girls hockey teams earned respective wins over Potsdam and Canton.

Wednesday, Jan. 16, Salmon River 5, Canton 3 -- The Lady Shamrocks scored four goals in the first two periods while holding their opponents to two, and then the teams swapped markers in the third stanza. Brycelan Sunday scored twice and assisted once. Ieneratokwas Swamp had a goal with an assist. Myranda Collette and Makhia Snyder each scored once. Rylee Garrow assisted two plays. Emma Ransom, Karli St. Ann and Autumn Benedict fashioned single assists. Sierra Norton-Glen made 26 saves.

Saturday, Jan. 19, Salmon River 0, Potsdam 5 -- Alana McDonald scored the only goal needed for the win seconds into a power play in the first period. She and Hannah Zenger scored twice. Isabel Boyd picked up the other marker.

Friday, Jan. 18, Salmon River 55, Potsdam 44 -- The boys basketball contingent built a 33-19 lead at halftime and turned that into an 11-point win. Clayton Jones scored a game-high 17 points. Rarennenhawi Cook-Francis scored 15 points, Dylan Beam and Bronson Sunday two each, Patrick Ghostlaw four, Logan Lebehn three and Greg Burdash two. Lashaka Mani-Hillary led Potsdam with 10 points.

Monday, Jan. 14, Salmon River 18, Canton 64 -- Kamea Thomas scored 14 points, including three from the three-point line as the Lady Shamrocks were unable to recover from an early 21-point deficit. Marisa LaPage and Meg Martin also came through for SRC with two points each. Gretchen Warner led Canton with 24 points.

Tuesday, Jan. 15, Salmon River 6, Ogdensburg 56 -- Thomas again paced the Lady Shamrocks, scoring all of their points throughout the 32 minutes. OFA led 15-2 after the first and netted 33 unanswered points in the second and third stanzas.

Thursday, Jan. 17, Salmon River 36, Potsdam 38 -- Potsdam built a three-point lead at halftime, 17-14, in working their way to a narrow win. Thomas scored a game-high 13 points. Jillian Benedict scored 10, Martin and Kahnekahawi four each, Annabelle Mitchell three and LaPage two. Luca Pecora led Potsdam with 12 points.

Friday, Jan. 18, Salmon River 25, Gouverneur 66 -- Gouverneur led 20-11 after the first quarter and then outscored SRC 20-3 in the second.

A Salmon River-Massena game slated for Tuesday, Jan. 15 was postponed due to technical problems at Tom Cavanaugh Arena. It was rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 22.
