September 4, 2018 – Early in the morning, children waited along the roads with their parents for the bus. It was the first day of school for Kana:takon School, Tsi Snaihne School, and Ahkwesahsne Mohawk School on Kawehnoke. All the kids, from Headstart to 6th grade, were ready to begin a new year of school. While the first day can be scary for many children, for others it's an exciting time to meet up with friends and make new ones. Parents led their kids onto the buses and took pictures of their first day. Meanwhile, teachers prepared for the onslaught of new and returning students, all of which had a different but exciting plan to greet the students for the new school year.
