SUZANNE JACKSON

AKWESASNE - Mrs. Suzanne Jackson, 90, of 30 LaFrance Road, peacefully passed away Monday morning, August 13, 2018 at the St. Regis Nursing home where she had been a resident since May 2018.

Suzanne was born December 25, 1927 in Kana:takon, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Sawatis Lazore. She was sent to Spanish, Ontario Residential Schools. Suzanne married Lawrence Jackson in Akwesasne.

Suzanne was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her family. She enjoyed playing cards, going on walks, cooking, but most of all she enjoyed time with her family and Sunday dinners. She was a member of the Akwesasne Death Benefits and the St. Regis Mohawk Senior Citizens.

Suzanne is survived by her children, Candace Jackson, Merwin (Charlie) Jackson and Sharon, Clayton Jackson, June Jackson, Suzie Jackson, Lawrence Jackson and Sandra, all of Akwesasne; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Suzanne was predeceased by her son Bruce Jackson, and 11 brothers and sisters: Ann, Mike, Celia, Archie, Dorothy, William, Eva, Charlie, Margaret, Joe, and Angus, and her best friend right until the end, Mae Tarbell.

Friends and family may call Friday 10:00AM-2:00PM at the Donaldson Funeral home, Massena, where funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00PM.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Akwesasne Senior Center.
