DENNIS A. CHUBB

FORT COVINGTON- Dennis Andrew Chubb, 66, of 495 County Route 1 and a longtime Akwesasne resident unexpectedly passed away Sunday evening, August 12, 2018 at his home.

Dennis was born May 18, 1952 in Buffalo, NY, son of Helen Jacobs Chubb and the late Joseph Chubb. He attended Salmon River School and at the age of 17 entered the US Army, having served in Vietnam.

Dennis was a self-employed contractor doing masonry, carpentry, and painting until becoming disabled. He loved to buy, sell and trade vehicles, and loved his motorcycle. He was an active AA Member, attending and supporting many AA events in the Rochester and Canandaigua area.

He is survived by his two children, Athena Chubb of Massena and Arrow Chubb of Akwesasne; two grandchildren Ethan Pervaiz and Zenaida Chubb; his mother, Helen Chubb of Akwesasne; two sisters, Cynthia Chubb and her companion, Newton LaFrance, and Beverly Chubb and her companion, Bowman Lazore, all of Akwesasne; his brothers, Wayne Chubb; Kevin "Leo" and Maryella Chubb; Ray and Francine Chubb; and Malcolm and Allison Chubb; and Carl Chubb, all of Akwesasne.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Victoria Chubb at the age of 3; and four brothers, Ronald D. Chubb on May 18, 1997; Reginald Chubb on March 23, 2012; Marlon "Mitch" Chubb on December 17, 2012; and Steve J. Chubb on August 5, 2014; and his godmother, Margaret Porter.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service was held on Wednesday at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hogansburg with Rev. Mark R. Reilly officiating, and a memorial dinner was held at the Hogansburg American Legion Wednesday evening.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directed to the funeral home to assist the family.
