Tracy Cromp, Mohawk of Syracuse, completed the 'Ironman Lake Placid' on July 22, 2018. Tracy is the daughter of Arlene Cooke of Syracuse, NY and formerly from Akwesasne. Cromp is the granddaughter of Joe Cooke.
Cromp completed the 2.4-mile swim, the 112 mile bike and the 26.2 mile run in 15 hours. Sam Sampiere, her fiancé completed the Ironman in 13 hours.
The Ironman Lake Placid had a total of 2772 competitors, 587 females. Overall, she placed 454, in swimming she placed 16th, in the bike run she placed 54th, and in the final leg of the Ironman she placed 64th individually. Congratulations to both!
