Job Title: MANAGER

The Native North American Travelling College Board of Directors is looking for a Manager for the Travelling College to plan, organize, direct, and administer the programs, staff and activities of the Centre. This includes a focus on strategic planning, assisting in developing and implementing policies, writing proposals, managing staff and continuously working to enhance the services of the Cultural Centre.

The Manager must possess an extensive background and knowledge in Cultural and Language Programming. The Manager should have the experience and understanding of the requirements and challenges for the successful operation of a Cultural Centre and Museum.

The Manager will demonstrate administrative skills which include developing a five-year strategic plan, board reports, budgets and financial management, project management and reports to funding agencies. The Manager will also demonstrate sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, public speaking, decision making abilities, and express enthusiasm, excellent leadership abilities and be creative. They must also have excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, a strong knowledge and understanding of First Nations history, culture, tradition and language. Fluency in the Mohawk Language would be considered an asset along with the willingness to learn.

The Manager should have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related administrative field and/or several years experience or knowledge in cultural aspects and experience supervising a staff of 5-15.
