BUSINESS SERVICES OFFICER

PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT OF TEHOTIIENNAWAKON SALARY LEVEL: SP07 2/3 $48,594.48-$50,538.26

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES;

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director/Economic Development Officer, the Business Service Officer’s primary responsibilities are to oversee and manage the Akwesasne Economic Development Fund (AEDF), Small Business Grant (SBG), and guide entrepreneurs through a wide array of funding agencies such as banks, local agencies, provincial and federal government to provide information to community members on the services offered and is also responsible to provide information to community members on the economic and employment resources available. He/she will develop an “Aftercare” program to assist in addressing the demand to build financial and business management skills. The Business Services Officer will maintain a working relationship with other Akwesasne based agencies and coordinate with them to help reduce the unemployment rate in the community through training, employment and business development for Akwesasronon.

QUALIFICATIONS;

• Four-year University degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Economics or a related field with minimum of two years of experience working in the field of Business or Economic Development, OR;

• Completion of secondary school with post-secondary classes with four years of experience in Business or Economic Development.
