A Voice from the Eastern Door
Under the auspices of the Mohawk Nation Council of Chiefs, Indian Time newspaper is seeking five (5) community representatives to sit on the Indian Time Board of Directors.
To qualify for appointment to the Indian Time Board of Directors a person must:
• Be a registered member of Akwesasne (southern or northern portion).
• Have knowledge of Mohawk cultures and traditions.
• Have good character, credibility and reputation in the Akwesasne community.
• Not be convicted of an indictable offense in Canada or a felony in the United States within 5 years prior to their appointment.
• Reside in Akwesasne, unless otherwise approved by the Mohawk Nation Council of Chiefs.
• Have an adequate educational background or experience in communications and possess an interest in current, local, regional, and national issues.
• Not be an elected member of the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne or the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, or a hereditary Chief or Clanmother from the Mohawk Nation Council of Chiefs.
This is a volunteer board position unless otherwise dictated by the Mohawk Nation Council of Chiefs.
