AMPS ARRESTS ONE INDIVIDUAL WANTED FOR PRIOR ASSAULT

(April 25, 2018) The Akwesasne Mohawk Police and the Ontario ROPE squad have arrested Mitchell Jocko (36) without incident in Gatineau, Quebec. The arrest occurred this past Tuesday (April 24, 2018) morning.

Mitchell Jocko was wanted on arrest warrants for aggravated assault. Akwesasne Mohawk Police have charged Jocko for two separate incidents that occurred within the same week in early February 2018.

The Joint Investigation Team learned that Jocko had moved away from the area to avoid arrest. A joint investigation into his whereabouts led police to believe he was staying in Gatineau.

The two other subjects that were involved in the incident have yet to be arrested. Corby Jock (31) and Johnny Adams (31) remain wanted by police for the same offense.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Chief Shawn Dulude was pleased with the assistance provided in this investigation by multiple agencies assisting in the arrest including members of the Ontario Provincial Police, and Ottawa and Gatineau Police Services.

“I want to thank the police agencies for the collaborative effort in effecting this arrest,” said Chief Dulude.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service encourages anyone with any information that will assist in their investigation, to please contact Police at 613-575-2000 or the Akwesasne Crime Stoppers at 613-575-2255.
