Work in Belize for 4 months through the International Aboriginal Youth Internship (IAYI) Initiative.

The Marine Institute of Memorial University has just received funding from the Canadian government to send indigenous youth of Canada (age 18-35) to Belize on a 4-month internship through the International Aboriginal Youth Internship (IAYI) initiative. All travel costs for the initiative are covered and interns are also provided with a modest allowance while overseas to cover living expenses.

Interns will work with the National Institute of Culture and History and Galen University in Belize. All travel expenses will be covered and a modest living allowance will be provided while overseas. This initiative is funded through Global Affairs Canada.

To be eligible candidates must:

• Be legally allowed to work in Canada

• Be of Aboriginal affiliation

• Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent work experience (candidates should not have a university degree)

• Be between the ages of 18 and 35

• Not have previously participated in an IAYI opportunity

The internship is expected to take place between July and November 2018. The application deadline is April 30, 2018.
