Recently the Salmon River girl's basketball team was recognized as a New York State Scholastic Athletic team. To be recognized as a Scholar-Athlete team, 75% of a team's roster is required when computing a team's average GPA, which must be 90.0 or greater.
Individual Scholar Athletes on the team included Dava Thompson, Jillian Benedict, Lauren Martin, Kahnekahawi and Yanenowi Logan. Student-athletes must have a 90.0 or greater GPA to be recognized as a Scholar-Athlete.
