The School of Education and Professional Studies at SUNY Potsdam is accepting on-line applications for a full-time temporary Visiting Instructor (Clinical Faculty) position within the Department of Elementary Education. Expected start date is fall 2018. Primary responsibility will be to provide a field based, clinically rich experience for pre-service Elementary Education at both the graduate and undergraduate level majors during their practicum and student teaching field placements. Additionally, cultivation and development of relationships with administrators and educators in our local school districts will be expected. Successful candidate will teach various elementary methods courses within the Elementary Education department, serve on campus committees, and advise undergraduate students in the Teacher Education program. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Education (or related field) and five years’ experience as a full time, certified elementary classroom teacher (PreK-6.) Preferred qualifications include experience teaching at the college level and/or Instructional support /coaching experience in a school setting, pre-service mentoring and experience within a high needs, Native American or diverse cultural setting. We are, especially, seeking candidates who have worked with, done research with, or taught under-represented groups and have worked collaboratively across various departments in fostering success of underrepresented groups.
