AMBE JOB POSTING SUPERINTENDENT OF KANIEN;KEHA LANGUAGE AND CURRICULUM

PERMANENT FULL TIME POSITION SALARY RANGE: $78,021.17 - $91,273.74

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction and leadership of the Director of Education, the Superintendent of Kanien’keha Language and Curriculum has the overall responsibility for the continuous development of an effective Kanien’keha program in AMBE schools. This includes supervision of curriculum development and implementation, the creation of resource materials for the Immersion and Core Programs of AMBE, monitoring student achievement in language fluency and ensuring that all resources and instructional practices are based on the Neurolinguistics approach. The Superintendent will also ensure that our cultural teachings are respectfully integrated into all areas of the Kanien’keha Curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A degree in Education with six years of experience in teaching; and

• Principal in First Nations School certificate or equivalent; and

• Specialization in curriculum writing and resource development or verifiable training in Kanien’keha with five years of related work experience; and

• Five or more years of experience in a supervisory position; and

• Knowledge and training in the Neuro-linguistic Approach (NLA).
