Fundraisers for Akwesasne Flood Victims

Akwesasne is well known for helping out one another in their time of need and the 2018 Akwesasne Flood is no different. Community members immediately stepped up to assist.

Local artist Victoria Ransom is currently hosting a live art auction online called, “Art Auction to Benefit Akwesasro:non Affected by the Flood”.

Local artists have already posted to the online auction, while others are making new work to be auctioned off such as Ann Mitchell and Bruce Boots. Artists from other communities have shown an interest in supporting Akwesasne, as well. The Art Auction will accept artwork from other communities and all kinds of art from fine art to traditional art. Artisans can post a picture of their donated work with a description and starting price of the work. The deadline to post artwork is Friday, March 16th. Art will be auctioned until Friday, March 30th.

For more information, please contact Victoria Ransom via Facebook.

Mark your calendars! On Friday, March 16th a lot will be happening at the American Legion Post 1479 with a chicken BBQ, a dance and more.

In the evening a dance will feature local live entertainment along with a Mohawk Auction and a 50/50 raffle with all proceeds going towards the Flood Relief Fund.
