enison, Moose Meat, Lemons & Cherries - All at the Akwesasne Winter Carnival Cook-off

This years Wild Game Cook-off and Meat Pie/Apple Pie & Cake Decorating Contest brought out a number of chefs, bakers and homemakers entering their best creations.

The Wild Game Cook-off featured walleye chowder, venison stir-fry, fried venison and number of other dishes. Blue Thompson and his son Brody brought some mouthwatering dishes to taste. But the winner did a take on the shish kabob with skewers of fried bread, green peppers, onions and venison.

Sandra Fox walked away with her cherry pie taking first place and other winners included Best Decorated Winter Theme: Shyah Terrance, Best Tasting Cake: Amanda Jacobs, and for the pies: Best Appearance: Anita Mitchell, Best Crust: Sandra Fox, Best Tasting Meat Pie: Anita Mitchell and Best Tasting Fruit Pie: Gina Jones Thompson.
