Don Lucas, a Registered Nurse from the Community Health Program, worked with the students from the Grade four class at Tsi Snaihne School to help educate students about the health effects of smoking.
“The Lungs Are For Life’ program aims to help prevent the initiation of commercial tobacco use among youth. There are several lessons that provide students with information on health and social consequences of cigarettes. The lessons also attempt to motivate students to resist pressures from peers and the media to use harmful substances. Class activities are integrated with each lesson to keep students engaged and have fun while learning an important subject.”
Nia:wen to Don Lucas for presenting the program and Community Health for sponsoring this informative program.
