The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is pleased to invite qualified general contractors to submit stipulated price tenders for the interior renovations of the Kanonhkwatsheri:io Health Facility. The total renovated area is approximately 1466sm (15,780sf) that ranges over the course of two floors. Work includes interior alterations to the existing building along with interior fit-up to the vacant first floor of the building’s addition. The building will remain in operation throughout the construction process and executed by phased construction.
Tenders, sealed in envelopes and clearly marked as to the contents, will be received by Mr. Jay Benedict, Director, Akwesasne Technical Services Unit, at Administration Building No. 3, Cornwall Island, Ontario, K6H OG5 before 2:00:00 p.m. local time, as determined by clock located in the general office of DTS Administration no later than Thursday, January 18th, 2018.
On the same day, commencing at 2:05:00 p.m. local time, the tenders will be opened and read publicly at the Cornwall Island Administration Office #3 on Cornwall Island.
Plans, specifications and tender forms may be obtained from the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Cornwall Island Administration Building No. 3, Cornwall Island, Ontario beginning at 2pm EST, Thursday, December 14, 2017.
Tenders must be accompanied by the following Bid Security Requirements, addressed or payable to the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, as follows:
• A Bid Bond for the amount equal to 10% of the total tender price be included with the submission of bids.
• Proof of a 50% Material and Labour Bond.
• A Performance Bond for the amount equal to 50% of the total tender price be included in the submission of bids.
There will be a MANDATORY General Contractors’ meeting at the Health Facility, the date and time will be confirmed.
Evaluation of all tenders will follow the CCDC 23 – A Guide to Calling Bids and Awarding Construction Contracts. Further information can be found in Instruction to Bidders portion of the contract documents.
Tenders are subject to a formal CCDC 2 – Stipulated Price Contract being prepared and executed. The Council reserves the right to reject any or all tenders and the lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
The construction start date is anticipated to occur in early spring - April 2018 in reference to MOHLTC funding approvals.
