A Voice from the Eastern Door

On October 22, 2017 our family was forever changed. We lost our mom, Isabel Rourke, that day. She meant everything to us and her loss broke our hearts. Her family would like to thank so many people and organizations for all the comfort and support they showed us. You’ve all made such a heartbreaking ordeal a little more bearable by your kindness. Whether it was a comforting hug, food, flowers, monetary donation, or maybe you simply stopped by to pay your respects. All these gestures, big and small, meant a lot to each and every one of us. We would like to especially thank the following people: Leslie, Nolan, Mike, Gordie, Casey, Lester, Mark, Chris and Alice T. for your kindness; the SRMT Tribal Police Dept., Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Dept., the American Legion Post 1479 and the Women’s Auxiliary for your support; Donaldson’s Funeral Home and Kati Herne for your services; Father Pastores, Sister Christine and the Akwesasne Mohawk Singers for your songs and prayers; Harvey Boots for your generosity; Dolores and Binky for your time; and Theresa Gardner, Caralee T., MCA Rescue, Brenda P., and Jeff A. who showed so much care and kindness for our mom in her time of need. We sincerely apologize if we’ve omitted anyone. You’ve all helped carry us when our spirits were at their lowest and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

From the family of Isabel Rourke
