Lake Placid Hockey Hall of Fame

Lake Placid Hockey Hall of Fame. Mac Thomas and granddaughter Chanel Thompson standing next to the plaque of Gordon "Pete" Sears, a teammate of Mac's at Oswego State University in 1972. Pete Sears went on to play for the USA Olympic team 1972 in Sapporo, Japan where they captured a silver medal. Mac told Chanel the story of when players like Mike Benedict Sr., Paul King Jr. and himself played against Pete in high school hockey when he was a star goaltender for Lake Placid High School. He told Chanel that he scored on Pete back in 1968 during a high school tournament at the 1932 Olympic rink 49 years earlier. Chanel's team had just won the girls Bantam division on the same rink, and is showing her gold medal. Photo submitted by Kanastatsi Jacobs.
