UPDATE – POLICE ARE SEEKING THE PUBLIC'S ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING 3 MALES

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating three males in relation to a serious assault:

• 26-year-old Johnathan Leonard FRANCIS of Akwesasne

• 30-year-old Jeremy Richard FRANCIS of Akwesasne

• 26-year-old Ariwiio Logan SWAMP of Akwesasne

The incident took place at some time after midnight on Friday, October 13, 2017, at a home located in Akwesasne, Quebec. At around 1:00pm, police received information that two men were hospitalized after being assaulted with a weapon.

On Tuesday, October 16, investigators arrested and charged one male in connection to the assault. 26-year-old Aaron Vaughn ADAMS of Akwesasne was arrested and charged with: aggravated assault x 2, assault with a weapon x 2, forcible confinement x 2 and extortion using a firearm. ADAMS was held for bail and later released on a recognizance by a provincial court judge in Valleyfield, QC. ADAMS is scheduled to appear for court in December.

On Wednesday, October 18, arrest warrants were issued for Johnathan L. FRANCIS, Jeremy R. FRANCIS, and Ariwiio L. SWAMP for the following charges:

• Aggravated assault x 2

• Assault with a weapon x 2

• Forcible confinement x 2

• Extortion using a firearm
