Found Not Criminally Responsible for 2014 Murder

Ryan Lazore sent to psychiatric hospital for people accused of crimes

Ryan Lazore, Akwesasne, has been found not criminally responsible for the death of his mother, 46-year-old Lori Sue Lazore of Snye, Quebec. She was found on December 30, 2014 in her home after the Akwesasne Mohawk Police conducted a welfare check. Her son was 26 years old at the time.

Lazore was arrested and charged with second-degree murder after being confronted by NYS Troopers at a gas station in Fort Covington, NY.

At the time of Lazore’s arrest, it was reported; he had blood on him and had allegedly told troopers he had cut his mother ‘everywhere’ with a knife after arguing with her. He was then held at a New York State holding faculty before being extradited to Canada in March 2015. From 2015 to present, Lazore made a number of appearances through the Quebec judicial process.

After being contacted by Cornwall News Watch, the Valleyfield Provincial Court informed them that Ryan Lazore was found not to be criminally responsible for his mother’s death on June 19, 2017. Lazore has since been sent to the Institut Philippe-Pinel de Montreal for an undetermined time. Institut Philippe-Pinel de Montreal is a psychiatric hospital for people accused of crimes and found to be not criminally responsible due to mental disorder.
