A Voice from the Eastern Door
(September 19, 2017) HOGANSBURG, NY - Shannon Keel, General Manager at Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort, was honored as one of the Emerging Leaders of Gaming at the 2017 Group and Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Conference in Las Vegas on October 4. Named by The Innovation Group and G2E, this prestigious award recognizes dynamic young professionals in the gaming industry. This year's honorees were "chosen from one of the strongest groups of nominees... since the program's inception," according to Michael Soll, President of The Innovation Group and organizer of Emerging Leaders of Gaming.
"Shannon came on board in December 2015 and since that time has been instrumental in making positive changes during struggling times with the Canadian market. Shannon has implemented innovative ideas to improve AMCR patron count and grow revenue by utilizing Canadian Chips on table games and converting ten percent of gaming floor to Canadian Currency accepting machines," stated by Emily Lauzon, Assistant General Manager, who put forward the nomination.
Shannon will be adding this honor to her roster of over 12 years of casino management operations experience. "Through Shannon's strong work ethic, research and analytic skills she will continue to thrive in the gaming industry. Shannon is a strong proponent of creating partnerships within the gaming industry and local/regional/national businesses. In many ways Shannon exceeds the challenging requirements and expectations for the award. Shannon's ambitions, intelligence, and accomplishments complement precisely the stellar community of past recipients and make her highly deserving of the honor and opportunity bestowed by the Emerging Leaders of Gaming Program."
