The Akwesasne Cancer Support Group held a Memorial Candle Walk on Sunday, September 16, 2017. Under still sunny skies and temps around 80 degrees at 5pm, walkers registered and took to walking the Tewatahita Trails. Over 30 walkers participated and later in the evening, carried candles for a loved one who has passed.
The ravages of cancer affect every person living in Akwesasne. When the Akwesasne Cancer Support groups hosts an event, the place should be packed showing our support for those who have passed, those who are fighting cancer now and for a future without cancer.
