Rooseveltown man charged with drug felonies at SLU

A Rooseveltown man attending St. Lawrence University is facing felony drug charges after allegedly being caught with cocaine, ecstasy and Adderall in a dorm hall.

Keegan P. Thomas is charged with third- and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, both felonies, and misdemeanors including seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia: scales and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana: more than two ounces, according to Canton police.

Thomas allegedly possessed 10 grams of cocaine in three separate baggies, marijuana with a field test weight of 124 grams and 391 pills, about half of which were ecstasy and the other half Adderall, Chief James Santimaw said. Adderall is an amphetamine that is prescribed to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Thomas was charged at 12:36 a.m. Sept. 2 following a noise complaint at a residence hall that turned up the drugs, according to Santimaw.

Thomas was arraigned in Pierrepont Town Court by Justice Robert Camp and released on his own recognizance, police said.
