ABGC Extends Thanks For Successful 2017 Summer Program

The Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club would like to take this time to send out a huge THANK YOU to all the programs that helped make the 2017 Teen Future Leaders Summer Program a huge success, but most importantly to the SAINT REGIS MOHAWK TRIBE for investing in our teens.

The amount of knowledge shared with the teens and time spent working with them will have a lasting impact on what they walk away with. We would like to thank the following programs/people that have taken the time to come to the Teen program to spread their knowledge:

Robin Lazore - Log pounding and pack basket making

Aronhiaies Herne - The Creation Story

Mike Thompson - Teaching how to string a traditional lacrosse stick

Ian Clute and Traditional Support – Rattle making class

Erin Seymour and the Akwesasne Justice Department - The YOUCAN program

Nation Building - "We will govern" Presentation

Iakwasatsha Program - Morning fitness camp

SeaComm Federal Credit Union Representative - Saving money for education, opening a checking account and learning to balance and budget money

The Traveling College - History of lacrosse as well as ran a social after all the teens finished making their rattles

Julie Jacobs, Angela Benedict, Aaron Barrigar, Sydney Thompson, Taylor Smoke and Payne Benedict, SRMT Environment who provided environmental education in forestry and air quality.

Wahiahawi and AAMB, ACR program who came and demonstrated their skills.

Tsionatiio Thompson – Volunteered to help some of the girls complete a beaded purse.
