Kayaking Event Part of Wellness Week

Local kayaking enthusiasts you see here and there along the local waters got a chance to band together last week and get together for their love of the sport.

As part of Wellness Week activities there was a kayaking event and 23 people put in at Sitting Bull Campgrounds. The winds made the Raquette River choppy but the regatta went into it head on. Most of the group made it up to the Grand Mohawk Inn before turning back to Sitting Bull were they were treated to a Chicken Dinner provided by Big Russ'. Among the group there was discussion about forming their own kayak group in Akwesasne and all of the paddlers enjoyed themselves during this event.
