A Voice from the Eastern Door
Heavy metal masters Blue Öyster Cult will rock the Chevy Court stage at the Great New York State Fair on Friday, September 1 at 8 p.m.
Blue Öyster Cult has been a major heavy metal influence on many other acts, such as Metallica, and was listed in VH1’s countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time. Allmusic.com calls the band “the thinking man’s heavy metal group, “makers of music that is “ambitious, intelligent, and rocking in a strangely sensual kind of way.” Original core members, Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser (guitar, vocals) and Eric Bloom (guitar, keyboards, vocals) lead the band through its 45 year catalog of music, including the iconic “Don’t’ Fear the Reaper.”
This will be the band’s third appearance at the Fair and the first since 2010.
