A Voice from the Eastern Door

The 2017 Ahkwesahsne Mohawk School Graduation

Another school year concluded for the Eighth Grade at the Kawehno:ke school, and their special night was on Tuesday, June 20.

Twenty-six students received their diplomas on their big night and acting Principal Courtney Thomas told the students that tonight's milestone was about them.

"You worked hard to get here tonight, all your achievements you have made from Head Start to Grade eight and especially this year. Graduating from Grade eight is one of your milestones you will reach in your life and I hope tonight is a memorable one for you," said Thomas.

Last year's Valedictorian Ariana Roundpoint, now a student at Cornwall Collegiate, was the guest speaker and she told of her time and what she took home from the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk School.

All the students were congratulated for their hard work and dedication and wished all the best in their future academic careers.
