Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service Media Release

(June 15, 2017) At around 3:00pm on June 14, 2017, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service were notified of an assault that took place on McDonald Road, Akwesasne, Quebec. The reporting person called Akwesasne Central Dispatch to report that a person was assaulted and stabbed.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police and the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police commenced an investigation in the area of the incident. The scene was secured by police and the weapon used has been recovered and seized.

Three men were injured following a dispute that resulted in two of the males being stabbed with a pocket knife. All three men were treated and release at local hospitals.

Police are investigating the incident.

AMPS stated they cannot release any names in relation to this incident until the charges have been formally laid. The matter is still under investigation.
