REVISED DATE FOR AKWESASNE ELECTION LAW PRESENTATION TO COUNCIL

Please note that the date for presentation of the amended Akwesasne Election Law (AEL) to Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Chiefs has been changed from the original notice’s date of March 31, 2017 to April 28, 2017. Community Consultation in all three districts will follow shortly thereafter.

The Akwesasne Election Law Working Task Group previously sent out a survey requesting feedback on proposed amendments to the AEL. Feedback from the survey, which was provided via community notice on Feb. 12, 2017, was incorporated into this amended version.

Akwesasne members will have an opportunity to review the amendments and provide input if necessary.
