St. Regis Rec Dance Club Lip Sync Battle Benefit

The St. Regis Rec Dance Club put on a big performance for one of their own. Last weekend the Club held the third Lip Sync Battle to raise funds to help Jordan Reese with medical costs.

They raised over $3800 and the battle was co-sponsored by the St. Regis Recreation Committee. Generous donations were from Dr. Daniel, Cass Terrance and Mary and Philip Gray.

Community members put up challenges to friends to lip sync and a few community members accepted the challenge to perform to the theme of the night: the 90's.

After each performance they were judged out of a score of ten and the music was provided by Tray Benedict. The Master of Ceremonies was Akwesasne TV's Kevin "Big Boy" Lazore.

In between the battle sets, the St. Regis Rec Dance Club performed their own routines. Reese, who was also a contest judge, was also selected as Lip Sync Battle Queen. She was shy to say a few words but near the end of the evening got her courage up and performed a routine solo to a large applause. Her fellow judges were Waverly Thompson and Kelsee Thompson.

Other dance club performers in between battles were Camri Thompson and Kristi Thompson performing Megan Trainers "Your Lips are Moving," Nylah and Wayne Tillman performing "Barbie Girl" by Aqua, and London Lazore performing Madonna's "Material Girl."

Jordan Reese is undergoing heart surgery and the event, in her honor, was to raise funds.
