St. Regis Mohawk Tribal police blotter, March 31-April 5:
On March 31, police ticketed Melinda M. Rafter, 34, of Brasher Falls for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, uninspected motor vehicle and unlicensed operation. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on April 25.
On March 31, police charged Christopher R. Phillips, 30, of Pennellville for driving while ability impaired by drugs and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, both felonies, a misdemeanor count of false personation and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was also cited for obstructed view and unlicensed operation. He was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and remanded to Franklin County Jail, Malone, without bail.
On April 1, police ticketed Trevor D. Swamp, 22, of Hogansburg for first-degree aggravated driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marihuana and driving while intoxicated. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on May 2.
On April 3, police ticketed Claudia J. Tarbell, 33, of Akwesasne, N.Y. for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on April 18.
On April 3, police ticketed Gabriel J. Oakes, 51, of Hogansburg for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation and unregistered motor vehicle. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on April 25.
On April 5, police ticketed Robert W. David, 22, of Massena for running a stop sign. Ticket is returnable to Tribal Court on April 24.
On April 5, police ticketed Margaret Peters, 54, of Akwesasne, Ontario for inadequate headlight. Ticket is returnable to Tribal Court on April 24.
On April 5, police ticketed Ernestine D. Oakes, 69, of Akwesasne, Ontario for inadequate headlight. Ticket is returnable to Tribal Court on May 1.
Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service Media Release
(April 6, 2017) On Saturday March 11, 2017 at approximately 12:00 AM, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service received a call to attend Recreation Road, Kawehnoke for a motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival Police observed a motor vehicle lying on the passenger side. There was 1 female with serious injuries at the scene.
Upon investigation, the driver of the motor vehicle was located walking on Recreation Road. Jessica Ann Martin, aged 43, of Akwesasne was arrested and taken into police custody.
The victim was transported to the hospital.
Martin was released on a Promise to Appear for Thursday April 6, 2017, at Cornwall Provincial Court.
Martin is charged with the following:
“Impaired Operation”, Section 253(1)(a), “Over 80-Mg Operation”, Section 253(1)(b), and “Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm”, Section 249(3), all contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
