A Voice from the Eastern Door
Caring for someone suffering from Alzheimer’s can be overwhelming. The anxiety and fear of them walking away can directly impact a caregiver’s physical, mental and emotional well-being. Being able to speak with others facing the same situation might ease the anguish caregivers feel by realizing they are not alone.
Massena Memorial Hospital is co-sponsoring an Alzheimer’s Support Group with the Alzheimer’s Association’s Central New York Chapter. Support group facilitators Tanya Bolia and Ellen Wilson will lead the group in sharing and discussing the various struggles of being a caregiver. They help members develop strategies and empower them to provide the highest quality care possible. Spring meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. on April 17 and May 15 in the Main Floor Conference Room at Massena Memorial Hospital.
