A Voice from the Eastern Door
MCA’s Akwesasne Child & Family Services is hosting a Parenting Conference this Sat., March 4, 2017 from 8:30 am- 4 pm at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. There are 150 seats available and breakfast and lunch will both be provided. AnneMarie Churchill is a mental health consultant specializing in psychological resilience and mental health promotion. She is the co-author of Person-Centered Diagnosis and Treatment in Mental Health, and co-founder of the adult resilience program, Realizing Resilience.
A second speaker, Michael Scott, is a university student who has overcome many obstacles in his lifetime and chose to become sober in August of 2012. He now shares his testimony as a way of encouraging youth and adults in all communities to live a clean and healthy life style.
