A Voice from the Eastern Door
Montreal/Toronto (January 19, 2017) APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network) and Rezolution Pictures’ critically-acclaimed TV show Mohawk Girls picked up four nominations at today’s announcement of the Canadian Screen Awards (CSA). The nominations, hosted by actors Lyriq Bent and Aislinn Paul, were livestreamed today. This is the first time an Aboriginal comedy series has been nominated for a CSA.
Mohawk Girls, which aired its third season this past fall is the story of four dynamic 20-somethings trying to figure out what it means to be a modern-day Mohawk woman. The half-hour dramedy is filmed and set in Montreal and the Kahnawake Mohawk Territory. APTN has confirmed that a fourth season will be filmed this spring.

The CSA awards will be handed out on Sunday, March 13 at 8pm at a live event hosted by comedian Norm MacDonald, airing on CBC.
