The two Akwesasne teams in the Massena Men's Broomball League won their respective games last Sunday at the Massena Arena. But both were down to the wire.
In their game against Bowlmor, the Chiefs held a 3-1 late lead when Bowlmor scored in the final minute to bring them within one. The Chiefs also got a penalty on the play and Bowlmor pulled their goalie and it was 6 on 4. But the Akwesasne team controlled the ball for the win.
The Ice Pigs met Greg's Auto and defeated them 2-1. Edda Oakes and Dewey Thompson scored those two.
